Listening to this news on the radio, isn't it shocking? Poor polar bear became the first group of victim for global warming. I'm not saying that I have been doing everything I could to save our planet earth. Just knowing this news, it's sad.

I've been kinda lazy these weekend. Checking my email account for the first time in these few day, I've got a pretty encouraging mail from a friend. I mean it's always amazing to know that someone is there for you, someone is there supporting you. No matter he/she is a bro, friend or special someone, it just means a lot.

Corny pick up lines?

This evening, I was kinda bored after knowing that my weekend plan was totally blown off by the typhoon, so I youtubed a bit and accidentally found a video on the topic of guys’ pick up lines. It was funny. I mean jeez, what kind of guy would still use these kinda corny pick up lines so as to talk to a girl.

Terrible pick up line,
“Well I’m here. Tell me your second wish now.”
“Apart from being beautiful, what are you doing here?”
“Have you got something in your eye? Nah, just a sparkle.”
"Do you have a map? I just keep on getting lost in your eyes.
"If I could rewrite the alphabet, I would put U and I together."

Frankly, I don’t think guy really need a pick up line to catch girls’ attention (Of course, it would be nice if u do have one which works every time). Why can’t guys just be straight forward? Sweet, nice, funny guys are always charming. Wrong pick up line basically makes u sound like a moron or a dick.

Girls would like to hear some romantic pick up lines but no offense, just use pick lines wisely depends on the girls and the situations. Corny pick up lines don’t work all the time.

Love/ Habit

We fall in love, we fall out of love and we fall all over again. Sometimes we fall so hard that we can't even control ourselves or sometimes we become numb and take everything for granted. What if we find out that 3 magical words were just spoken out of habit one day and the whole thing of Love is just a lie?

When we were little, we learned to say "I love u". We said it to our family, friends or whatsoever. Getting older, we usually just end up saying it too much or too chicken to spit it out. How can it be possible that we are so afraid of saying these words as a grownup if you really mean it? Anyway we just do. On the other head, we just use it too often and no one would really take it seriously. How can we tell the difference between love and love out of habit?

Chinese? HKers? C'mon. They are not the same!

I was asked why I hated China so much since I'm obviously a Chinese myself. Maybe because of my relative issues or maybe it's because of the communist things. What can I say? Blame UK for giving Hong Kongers too much freedom and allowing us to think out of this "China is the BEST country ever" box. I'm glad that I wasn't born and raised as a patriot. I mean jeez I didn't even know how to sing the Chinese national anthem till 1997. I still can't remember the whole song anyway.

Living in Hong Kong for this 21 year, I see how things have changed. I see how people moving because Hong Kong was given back to China. I see how people still wanna leave Hong Kong because of the "one country two systems" bullshit. I see how the economy turned into hell. Mainland Government is just trying to manipulate the HK Government. Well, I suck at politic. I think I'm just getting the feeling that it's kinda the right thing for people to stand up against Donald Tsang. It's obvious that all he does is kissing the Chinese Government's ass. Come on! So much money was donated to the Mainland every single year and the Government suddenly became broke when it comes to saving the HKers?

I don't hate China like some of the Chinese hates Japanese. For me, those are what we call histories. Why let ourselves haunted by the past? Fine, you could get the Japanese to apologize for what they have done, so what? People are dead! Nothing could bring them back. Time goes by, it's the moment for a change. We study History to learn about the past and stop making the same mistake all over again, not re-ensure which side we should take. Taiwan is a part of China or not. I don't fucking care. Why bothers fighting over? Is there any prize for initiating World War III?

Until now, I'm still refering myself as Hong Konger not Chinese. Don't judge.

Marriage vs Life

"I wanna get married when I'm 20 something and have kids before 30, my goal is to be a housewife." it seems to become the thought of the day. My girl friends are obviously going through some pretty intense boy-hunts these days. If you told me you have this thought like 3 years ago, I'd have called you pathetic. Getting older, I guess I kinda get the reason for that even I'm not agree with the whole getting-married-is-my-life-goal thing. After all, life's hard. Still if it's really necessary to put a deadline on getting married? Does marriage really can't co-exist with other dreams?

For me, there are 2 types of girls who would die for marriage. The very first one is being-married-and-be-a-desperate-housewife type. This kinda girl tend to be busy looking for the one who is willing to take care of her for the rest of her life so that she could stay at home and take care of her kids like every single day. They are doing that mainly because they are sick of their boring jobs and wanna find a shelter. Well, of cause the second type would be the happily-married type. She is crazy in love and wanna tell everyone that she has found the one.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that people shouldn't get married. I just don't agree with some of reasons for people to get married. All I'm trying to say is why we have to do it in a hurry and make it sounds like marriage is everything. I still find it sad for some who wanna give up your own life to be a housewife. Come on! It's 2009! Women can be independent. Getting marriage is about having the world to witness your commitment not I-could-finally-quit-my-job-and-stay-at-home-forever.

It's not that I don't believe in marriage because I do. Everyone believe in marriage at some point and wanna broadcast that "we are so madly in love". I believe in marriage. I believe in happy ending. It just needs time to decide where I wanna spend mine.

Man's Ego and Girly Gal

Take a look around, girly, bitchy, manly and blah blah blah, it’s not hard to notice that there are so many different kinds of girls but is there a clear boundary between them? For many of my friends, I believe that I’m that kind of girl with man’s ego trapped inside. I don’t know if it’s good or bad but nothing is absolute?

I don't need every single one around to know how I feel. Sometimes it's just better to put work over word. I can’t understand why some girls have to be chicken about doing better than men? There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Men have their egos, we have ours.

To my surprise, I could pick up a girly fight too. After all it doesn’t take much to bring out one’s girly side. Even the manliest girls could also be a girly gal. It isn’t always black and white. You would never know when we are standing in grey.

Love/ Meal Ticket?

Knowing that an aunt has just got divorced and gave up her millions of property for a 20 year old she has just known, I’m just wondering if love is worth giving up everything for. Being rational, I’d call it crazy. Giving up someone who loves you like crazy for a younger? That sounds so old Hollywood. Being a Pisces, I’d call it LOVE I guess.

How long does it takes to fall in love with someone and makes you realize that he/she is your world but not just a player in the field and you’d elope with this person no matter what? That depends I must say. It wouldn’t take so long with the right timing and person. It just happens.

Maybe that I-love-myself-more-than-anything theory is right. It might sound selfish but at least you wouldn't get hurt so bad. This kind of people knows what to do for the sake of their own good. In real life, how many of us could actually escape from being fooled by the cupids? After all, deep down inside we still believe true love exists.

Girls' Night Out

Going out on a Saturday night, I just hanged out at the China Bar with a friend. Despite of the sucky live shows and kept being reminded that some guys were staring at my butt, nothing special actually. Playing some pool, drinking some alcohols and talking about guys, what a typical girls’ night out.

My friend came up with a weird theory about that sensual moment basing on how ticklish a girl is and she kind of bets that I couldn’t be able to hold up at that moment since I’m extremely ticklish and I have that thing in biting. I didn’t want to reply so I just smiled and looked around the bar. Maybe I’m maybe I’m not. If it’s just me being blinded when it comes to love or everyone else does the same?

Drinking for hours, we decided to hit the pool table. We are not professional, just want to do something else to burn the night out. We played for an hour and there were these two guys just kept standing right next to us. That was kind of annoying. Guys just can’t hide the dogs inside of them, especially in China, no offense. Sometimes I just can’t understand why so many girls have to die for someone who doesn’t deserve it. I mean it shouldn’t be like that. We girls don’t NEED men, we just CHOOSE to fall.

April Fool or Just a Fool

Receiving a message saying “I love you” in the middle of the night, I’ve suddenly realized that the April Fools’ Day has came. Anyway, I didn’t really have time for these kinds of pranks because of the presentation last night. It was sad. Today supposed to be fun.
After the morning classes, a group of girls gathered and talked about the April Fools ’ Day. We came up with a question, if it’s a better day for you to say I love you. Walking to the guy you liked and spilled out these three words, it would be less awkward if he was not feeling the same.
Maybe it’s because of the date or maybe my time is finally less occupied. I realized that I’ve been such a fool when it comes to these three words. Well, which girl isn’t?

GUYZ

I've just watched a video about how HK guys think about HK girls. That's so not fair. I mean not every girl is like that (except for those MK, HKers know what I am talking about). Anyway there is still something I wanna say, not mean to be bitchy.

1. Jerks, We are not fat: Some guys are blaming girls for wanting to lose weight. Most of the girls I know are like "gah, I'm fat". I mean if you want to lose weight just go to exercise or something, stop complaining and going on those freaky diets (which are not for human). These poor girls wanna lose weight because of their guys and how dare you guys calling us crazy now?

2. Materialistic: Who isn't? Wake up, it's 2009 now! No woman would stay at home and be your maid. We girls work and buy stuff that we can afford. What's wrong with that? You guys could go for your Wii, no judgment. Don't be insecure! It's just the fact that women could be better than guys too.

3. Gentleman/ Lady: Ok, that's true that we think guys are not "gentleman" enough sometimes. Girls want their guys to walk them home, is that really such a big deal that you guys gotta bring it up to fight against the girls? We just wanna spend more time with you. If you don't wanna do it, just don't. No crappy excuse and say that we are not "lady" enough.

4. Runaway Princess: Which girl doesn't wanna be treated like a princess? Frankly, you guys wanna be treated like a kid sometimes.

5. Cares: We don't care about your feeling? Have you guys ever care about ours? We PMS! Get over it! And there is a price to pay if you want us to dress like one of those victoria secret models, we are not hookers!

People Talks

This semester has been so weird. I mean why people love to pry about me? That makes me a little bit paranoid I guess. Why can't you just ask me if you wanna know? Also, 2 of my friends are going for the same girl? I mean omg?! Can it be more obvious? It seems that our school is really so out of girls. Whatever. As an outsider, I think I'd just watch like everyone else. I'm not trying to gossip, just these kinda things would come to my ears themselves. College...

Guys just don't understand

Three chick flicks, one concert, hundreds of I-can't-live-without-u songs and an Amy Cheung's made my day after that abstract St Valentine's Day. I don't know why I would have been thinking about the same question these days. “How could guys be that slow when it comes to relationship?” Even for a smart guy like Stephen Hawking once said, “I would also like to understand women.” Are we really that complicated? Or if guys are just sitting on their brains the whole time?

Every guy says women are such a complicated animal. OK! Maybe we are not as direct as you think we would be but you guys should have the ability to read between the lines. That's a basic instinct! I mean what kind of girl would go on the street shouting at guys, “ I wanna get laid!”. Well, she must rather be a drunky, a hooker or whatever.

First of all, girls are blind when they are fighting their own feeling, even for the most rational one. We don't know why or how we fall. We only know that we do. Well, there seems to be a pattern for girls to fall in love for the same kind of guys like all the time. Some guys would get really confused and ask for a reason when we fall for jerks. Frankly, we don't know why neither. Like I said, we are BLIND!

When we say “I love you”, we really mean it. So believe it, cast the 3-word spell and insist that you love that girl more if u feel the same. Never lie to a girl as guys usually just suck at lying! If you want to lie, be smart. Don't let us find out the truth ever.

I remember Hawking also said, “Women marry men hoping they will change. Men marry women hoping they will not. So each is inevitably disappointed.” Maybe he was true or maybe we just haven't found the right person.

Revolutionary Road

Watching the Revolutionary Road, a sudden thought came into my mind. How many of us are actually doing what we want and be with the love of our life?

Take a look around, we grow up, learn and try to get the nicest job we could ever dream of so as to pay for a "home sweet home". We love, get hurt and fall all over again in order to find someone to come home for. Everyone of us is secretly walking with the same pattern in some way. Sadly, none of us could really tell if that's really what we want. Wasting half of our lifetime, we eventually get to the cruel truth, we still end up getting cold feet because of the unknowns. Ironic, isn't it? Days and nights, we grumble about being miserable but we are just not willing to do a thing about it.

Life is unfair. It never is and it never will be. Some people get lucky. Chances keep flashing by and being wasted. Some just sit and pray for a better day and get nothing in return. Maybe you would say that something likes eloping is what coward would do. Think again, it takes courage to actually go for your dream.

Are we just living in our own fantasies? Or if we are all on the Revolutionary Road?
